It's time to tune your mind, and the rest will follow.
Welcome to the Welcome to the Mind Says Art podcast, where we take a moment to get away from the mindless scrolling to folks on answering our quality and our experience of life to the four pillars, health, wealth, love, and fulfillment. I'm your host and mindset coach, CJ Ledy, and today I'm walking you and I'm talking you through the three levels of evolution that I use to coach people towards deep lasting change.
So this episode is for anybody who's looking to get clear on where they are in their journey and what specific tools they need to move forward. Whether you're stuck in uncertainty Whether you're stuck in uncertainty or you're just ready to rev up your engine even more, or you're looking for that next level breakthrough. Today we're gonna map the full path of progress together.
So everybody that I coach falls into one of three buckets, and it's different for all the different categories of our life, But for whatever category we're focused on at that time, we fall into three buckets. I'm gonna tell you what these buckets are shortly, but first of all, you gotta understand this.
We are all in different phases of life in these different categories. You might be a total beginner in one area, but you are crushing it in another and maybe you're somewhere messy in the middle. And a third, no shame in that. And ultimately this structure isn't a strict ladder.
There's advantages to being in level one, two, and three. You know, it's more of a rotating wheel of growth. You're never truly done. You are always evolving.
So the goal is not perfection. It's never perfection. It's just progression. There's nothing wrong with you. There's nothing wrong with where you are at. It's about how do you find more joy? How do you increase your quality of life in every category?
So let's get into it. What is level number one? It's called Marry Your Goal. This is about discovery, direction and commitment.
It all begins here, sort of the beginning phase of anything you do. and think about this, if you don't know where you're going, if you don't know where the destination or the finish line is of say, a marathon, they just say, go.
It's time for you to start running and you don't know where the finish line is. Do you wanna start sprinting in any direction possible? Is that the smartest thing to do? No. It doesn't matter how fast you're moving. If you're not going in the right direction, you're not heading towards the finish line. So level one is about finding clarity.
It's about slowing down, looking inward, looking outward, asking the real questions. You know, what actually fulfills me? What am I gonna do? Because I truly want to. Versus what do I feel like I should do And as that comes into more clarity, you know, what goal would I be proud to commit to, even if it took years of my life?
This is really about building your foundation
And why is this important? Why do you wanna marry a specific goal in a category of your life? Maybe it's in your health, maybe it's in building wealth, maybe it's in an important relationship to you. What's important about creating a clear destination?
A clear goal? Well, the opposite can cause you to wander around aimlessly. It's a little thing we like to call shiny object syndrome.
We live in a dopamine flooded world. You know, every scroll shows you another business idea, another diet, another path to success. But really the truth is jumping from one shiny thing to the next shiny thing just keeps you in level one forever. And success. Real success really fulfilling sustainable success requires commitment not just to a specific task, but to a direction in life.
So this isn't about picking up a bunch more goals, um, in a day with I just have too many goals. It's about having the right goal, having the right plan, having the right fulfilling destination and future that's exciting to you. Something that really speaks to your soul. Something that matches your values, not just your ego.
Something that really matches your values. Something that you would be willing to marry with the same level of commitment as you would marry a partner in your life. and When you find that and you really say, I do, in that area of your life, everything changes.
And why? Because that commitment level creates a compounding effect. Every action continues to build on the last. You may not notice it in the first week, month, year, but over time you gain traction, you gain skill, you gain identity in that area.
And if you just dabble forever, you never experience the power of that compounding growth. But those who are committed for the long haul, that growth starts to become exponential.
So that's phase one. It's about finding a goal that you are willing to marry, marry your goal. I made a whole podcast about that, so if you're interested in it, you can go listen to that one. But it's about clarity, it's about alignment. It's about building a foundation that can actually carry you to the life that you want
or help you to enjoy more fully the beautiful life that you might already have. That brings us to level number two. If you've been following me closely, you probably know a lot about this one. It's called Tune Your Mind. This is the second bucket that people will fall into at my coaching.
It's about those who have already found their direction, they've married their goal, they've committed, and now it's time to build it. And level two is where most people live.
In most different categories of our life, we've got a vision, and now it's about building the mindset to actually follow through. And this is where my book Junior Mind comes in.
So the concept is about really how to structure your state of mind to support the life that you're trying to create. And I relate the mind to a guitar. And each different string of the guitar is like a different element of your mindset.
When your mindset is truly in tune, just like a guitar is in tune. You're capable of producing the state of mind that you want to actually take effective and enjoyable action on a consistent basis. So what are those five strings that need to be tuned in order for you to tune your mind in an important category of your life?
Number one is passion. Understanding your deep why. What really drives you beyond that surface level?
I am not gonna go too far into all these because you can find 'em in my book. You can find 'em in my audio book. We'll cover the basics here. Number two is clarity. Dial in what you actually want to do, both from a long term perspective and a short term perspective. Where are you going and how are you gonna get there?
Number three is momentum. It's about understanding the actual effort required to get there and about tracking your inputs. Not just guessing. It's about measurable progress. How much time, how much energy is it gonna take me to get where I would like to go?
String number four is ease. This is really where the inner workings of your emotions and mindset come in. It's about removing limiting beliefs and about strengthening empowering ones. This is where a lot of coaching ends up falling because I find that ease is one of the biggest contributors when it's strong, and it's one of the biggest limiting factors when we don't have a deep sense of ease around a specific target in our life.
They say ease is like a battle between two wolves. One is your limiting beliefs wolf and the other is your empowering beliefs. Wolf, they fight against each other and which one ultimately wins? Well, it's whichever one you feed.
so am my coaching, we teach you how to feed that. Empowering beliefs wolf. Number five is about necessity. Necessity is about having clear stakes, clear urgency, and you build it by understanding what is to gain if you actually reach this area of success. And also by understanding what is that risk, if you are too lazy to do the things necessary to get there, if you fall short on the actions required, what is your penalty?
The more clearly you can identify both of those, the more necessity you'll have to take clear and consistent action.
So those are the five areas. Passion, clarity, momentum, ease, and necessity. And when you have all five of those strings in tune, that's where execution gets easy. That's where Flow State is born. Feels incredible. Things get done quickly and you feel a deep sense of fulfillment in the work that you do.
so if you're there in an area of your life where you've married a goal, you've tuned your mind, then it's time for bucket number three. This is where it gets really fun. Not a lot of people make it into this bucket, I'll be honest. This one is about mastery.
It's about flow, it's about fulfillment,
and this one is called Optimize Your Habits.
So this is level three. It's really about stepping into mastery in a specific area of your life. At this point, you know, you've done the work, you build a foundation, you're executing consistently, and now you want to elevate even further and you really wanna maximize for the enjoyable return for quality of life.
So now it's time to optimize your habits, your health, and your daily environment. So we're looking for flow, which is really that unconscious competence you're just beautifully immersed in something that you're very good at.
Time passes quickly. There's no internal resistance.
It feels incredible. It's just pure consciousness
so we can get there. When we get to level three here, it's about aligning your values and your habits so much that you don't have to force consistency. Things are just happening. It's what I like to call Tuned Titan status in my book. Tune Your Mind. So Tuned Titan is someone who has stayed in tune long enough to create meaningful change in the world,
and they're rewarded with massive amounts of achievement and massive amounts of fulfillment. massive amounts of So they're not just achieving, they're also fulfilled, not just grinding. They're aligned. And this stage is subtle, but it's really powerful.
And it really comes down to managing the little things about optimizing your habits.
not just specifically for the work that you're doing, but all the other areas that are contributing to it. The habits in your relationship that are affecting your work or whatever area you're focused on, the parts of your health that need to be optimized so that you're getting the most out of your mind and out of your body.
This part is where we go deep. We micromanage the details
and honestly is the most fun part Because the little tweaks at this stage have massive effect ' cause you're already such a well-oiled machine.
So those are the three levels. Level number one, marry your goal level. Number two, tune your mind and level number three, optimize your habits. So for our tools of the day to day, take a little inventory for which level are you in? Of each of these four pillars that we talk about in the mindset is our podcast health. Wealth. Where do you think you fall in your love life and in your relationships and then in fulfillment, a line you feel in your life,
and then you can utilize those tools. The concept around marrying a goal, tuning your mind, and optimizing your habits. Just like I said, those are the three stages I walk people through in my coaching. and You can learn more about my one-on-one coaching on my website, cjledy.com. Or go into a little bit more depth
